Latino Health Insurance Marketplace & Community
Short video released by healthcare.gov reaching out to Latino community to drive Latino health insurance enrollment during open enrollment period. Driving health insurance marketplace enrollment within the Latino community was identified as being of particular importance by the Obama administration as uninsured rate among the Latino segment is relatively high, and although they have been significant improvements here as 300,000 hispanic children gained coverage from 2013 to 2014. However, there is still work to be done. In 2014 39.5% of uninsured children in this country were Latino while accounting for only 24.4% of the overall child population (under age 18).
